How does lastfollower find out who unfollowed me?
It reads your public follower list and stores a copy in your own browser. Next time you scan, it compares the two lists and anyone missing from the newer one is an unfollower. That is why your first scan sets the baseline and your second scan is the one that names names.
Do you need my Instagram password?
No. There is no login step and we never ask for a password. We only read what your profile already shows publicly, which is the same information anyone gets by opening it in a browser.
Can I check who unfollowed me without logging in to Instagram?
Yes. Type your handle and the scan runs against public data. You are never asked to connect your account, authorise an app, or hand over a token.
Is lastfollower free?
Yes, the scan itself is free and needs no Instagram password. It gives you the full totals for every list. The names behind those totals are part of Pro, which also adds alerts.
Can I see who doesn't follow me back?
Yes. Every scan checks your following list against your followers and gives you a separate list of accounts you follow that do not follow you back.
Will anyone know I ran a scan?
No. Nothing is posted, liked, followed or viewed on your behalf, and no notification of any kind reaches the accounts you scan.
Can using an unfollow tracker get my Instagram account banned?
Not this one. Bans come from apps that sign in as you or automate follows and unfollows on your behalf, both of which break Instagram's terms. lastfollower never signs in and never touches your account, so there is no activity on it for Instagram to act against.
Does it work on iPhone and Android?
Yes, and on a laptop too. It runs in the browser you already have, so there is no app to install, nothing to keep updated, and no difference between checking on your phone and picking it up again on a desktop.
Why don't I see any unfollowers on my first scan?
There is nothing to compare against yet. The first scan records who follows you today; run another in a few days and anyone who left in between shows up by name.
Does it work if my Instagram account is private?
Not while it stays private, because a private account has no public follower list to read. Some people switch to public for the length of a scan and switch straight back.
How often should I scan?
Once a week suits most people. Pro adds automatic daily scans and an alert within the hour when someone leaves.
What happens to my data?
Your follower snapshot is kept in your own browser, not on our servers, and it is used only to work out the difference on your next scan. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it completely.
