Terms
Plain-English terms for using Ghosted, including the things it deliberately doesn't promise.

What the service does
Ghosted reads publicly available Instagram data for a handle you supply and sorts it into four lists: accounts that stopped following you, accounts you follow that don't follow back, accounts that started following you, and followers who show no recent engagement.
It is a read-only tool. It does not automate any action on your Instagram account, and it will never ask for your credentials.
What we can and can't promise
The data comes from Instagram, through an intermediary, and reflects what was publicly visible at the moment of the scan. We can't guarantee it is complete or current.
- Unfollowers and new followers require two scans. A first scan establishes a baseline and cannot report changes that happened before it.
- Ghost follower detection is based on a sample of recent posts, because Instagram caps how much engagement data is public. It indicates rather than proves.
- An account that deactivates or is removed by Instagram appears identical to an unfollow. We cannot tell these apart.
- Large accounts may be sampled rather than read in full, in which case the result says so.
Acceptable use
Scan handles you own or have a legitimate reason to look at. Don't use the service to harass, stalk or profile anyone, and don't attempt to scrape it, resell its output, or route automated traffic through it.
We may rate-limit or block use that threatens the service or the people it reports on.
Plans and billing
The free plan allows one scan a week and reveals the top three names in each list. Pro removes both limits and adds alerts.
Pro is billed monthly or annually in advance. You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Cancelling does not automatically refund the current period, though we offer a refund within seven days of a first payment.
No affiliation with Instagram
Ghosted is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.
Your use of Instagram remains governed by Instagram's own terms. We built this tool to read only public data specifically so that using it doesn't put you in conflict with them.
Liability
The service is provided as-is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for decisions you make based on its output, or for interruptions caused by changes to Instagram or to the data sources we rely on.
A note on this document
This page is written to be readable and to describe the service honestly. It is not a lawyer-reviewed contract — if you are running this commercially, have terms drafted for your jurisdiction.
