Agreeing to these terms

These terms are a binding agreement between you and LastFollower ("we", "us"). By opening the site, running a scan, or paying for a subscription, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the service, and old enough to enter a contract in the place you live. If you are using it for an organisation, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms for that organisation.

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated version.

What the service does

lastfollower reads publicly available Instagram data for a handle you supply and sorts it into four lists: accounts that stopped following you, accounts you follow that do not follow back, accounts that started following you, and followers who show no recent engagement.

It is a read-only tool. It does not automate any action on your Instagram account, it does not post, like, follow or message on your behalf, and it will never ask for your Instagram password.

What we can and cannot promise

The data comes from Instagram, through a third-party intermediary, and reflects what was publicly visible at the moment of the scan. We do not guarantee that it is complete, accurate, or current, and you should not treat it as a definitive record of anything.

• Unfollowers and new followers require two scans. A first scan establishes a baseline and cannot report changes that happened before it.
• Ghost follower detection is based on a sample of recent posts, because Instagram caps how much engagement data is public. It indicates rather than proves.
• An account that deactivates, goes private, or is removed by Instagram appears identical to an unfollow. We cannot tell these apart.
• Large accounts may be sampled rather than read in full, in which case the result says so.
• Instagram can change what it exposes publicly at any time, without notice to us. Features may degrade or stop working as a result.

Availability

We do not promise that the service will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free. It depends on Instagram, on a third-party data provider, and on hosting we do not control, and any of those can fail or change without warning.

We may suspend, limit, or discontinue the service, or any part of it, at any time and without notice. We may also impose or change usage limits, including how many scans a plan allows.

Acceptable use

Scan handles you own or have a legitimate reason to look at. Do not use the service to harass, stalk, intimidate, or build profiles of people, and do not use it in any way that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights.

You must not scrape the service, resell or redistribute its output, route automated traffic through it, attempt to bypass the paywall or any rate limit, reverse engineer it, or use it to build a competing product.

We may rate-limit, suspend, or permanently block any use that threatens the service, its other users, or the people it reports on. We can do this without notice and without refund.

Plans, billing and cancellation

The free plan shows your profile and the full totals for each list. The names themselves are part of Pro, which also adds alerts.

Pro is billed weekly, in advance, and renews automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. Annual plans and paid trials are no longer sold; existing annual subscriptions, including those that began with a paid trial, continue on their original terms until cancelled or switched to the weekly plan. We email you 24 hours before each renewal, and 24 hours before a trial becomes a paid subscription, so a charge is never the first you hear of it. You can also pause your plan instead of cancelling, which stops future charges and restarts on the date you choose. Payments are handled by Stripe, and by subscribing you also accept Stripe's terms. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to you.

You can cancel at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. To cancel, use the billing controls in your account or write to us before the renewal date.

We may change the price of a plan. Any change applies from your next renewal, never retroactively, and we will tell you before it takes effect.

Refunds

If you are not happy with a charge, write to [email protected] and we will refund it. Tell us the email address on the subscription, your name, and roughly when you subscribed, which is everything we need to find the payment. We refund the most recent charge to the card it was taken from, and we cancel the subscription at the same time so nothing is charged again.

A refund is of that charge, not of every charge you have ever made. We do not give credits for partial periods you choose not to use, for scans that returned fewer results than you hoped, or for downtime or degraded features caused by changes to Instagram or our data provider, though any of those is a fair reason to ask for the charge back.

If you would rather just stop, cancelling is instant and free: you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for and nothing further is charged. Nothing in this section limits any right you have under mandatory consumer law in the place you live, where such law applies and cannot be waived.

No affiliation with Instagram

lastfollower is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.

Your use of Instagram remains governed by Instagram's own terms, and you are responsible for staying within them. We built this tool to read only public data specifically so that using it does not put you in conflict with them, but that judgement is ultimately yours.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", with all faults and without warranty of any kind.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We do not warrant that the service will meet your requirements, that its output will be accurate, or that defects will be corrected.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, reputation, relationships, or opportunity, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if we have been advised that such loss was possible.

In particular, we are not liable for decisions you make on the basis of the output, for anything that follows from you acting on it, for the accuracy or behaviour of Instagram or any third-party data provider, or for interruptions caused by changes outside our control.

Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you actually paid us in the three months before the claim arose, or ten US dollars.

You use the service at your own risk and you are solely responsible for how you use what it tells you.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, demand, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your violation of any law or of anyone else's rights.

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without cause and with or without notice, including where we believe you have broken these terms. Where we terminate an account for breaking these terms, the refund section does not apply to it.

The sections covering acceptable use, refunds, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and governing law survive termination.

General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a term on one occasion is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business.

These terms, together with our privacy policy, are the entire agreement between us about the service.
