Instagram story viewer
Watch public stories in your browser and save them before they expire.
Instagram stories vanish after 24 hours, and the app makes saving someone else's impossible, including your own once the archive rolls over. This tool reads the stories a public account is currently showing and gives you each one full size, with a download button.
It reads only what a public profile already broadcasts. Private accounts have nothing public to read, so there is nothing this tool can show for them.
How to use it
- STEP 01
Enter a handle
Type the Instagram username, with or without the @. No password and no login step. The tool reads only what the profile shows publicly.
- STEP 02
Load the stories
Every story the account is currently showing appears as a full-size image or video you can play in place.
- STEP 03
Download what you want
Each story has a download button that saves the original file rather than a screenshot.
Common questions
Can I view Instagram stories anonymously?
Stories loaded through this tool are fetched from Instagram's public data rather than played through your account, so they don't appear in the story's viewer list. This only works for public accounts. A private account shows nothing publicly for any tool to read.
Do I need an Instagram account to use this?
No. There is no login step at all. You enter a handle and the tool reads what that public profile is already broadcasting.
Can I view stories from a private account?
No. A private account publishes nothing publicly, so there is nothing for this or any other tool to read. Anything claiming otherwise is either guessing or asking you to hand over your password.
How long are stories available?
Instagram removes stories 24 hours after posting. Once a story expires it is gone from the public data and this tool can no longer show it.
Does downloading a story notify the poster?
No. Downloading through this tool doesn't touch the poster's account and generates no notification of any kind.
Not the tool you needed?
Live stories are only the part of a profile that is about to disappear. If that is not what you came for:
- The story you want was posted weeks ago and pinned to the profile — the highlights viewer opens it.
- You already have a link to a specific post or reel — paste it into the video and photo downloader.
- You only wanted a proper look at the profile picture — the profile picture viewer shows it full size.
